The Ganesha festival

The Ganesha festival is a time of joy & celebration. But unknowingly we could be putting the lives of the future generation at risk. By polluting the water bodies in which the idols of Ganesha are immersed. Because these painted idols release harmful lead and other carcinogens into the water. Thus poisoning our lakes & ponds.

Help prevent pollution this festival season:
” Ensure that the paints/colours used on idols are of vegetable origin.
” Choose smaller idols made from plaster of paris rather than gigantic idols of clay.
” Remove all flowers, articles of worship, plastics etc. before immersion.
” Avoid playing of ear shattering music through loud speakers to prevent sound pollution during the pooja.
